Schoongezicht, approximately 60 ha in extent, is in a landscape of gentle hills rising to 140m, close to the main beaches of Plett. It offers spectacular views of the Nature Reserve, the Robberg peninsula as well as the Indian Ocean with its welcome sea breeze on a hot day.

The whole development was designed by a well-known landscape architect Anthony Wain of Cape Town in close co-operation with Nature Conservation and environmental authorities in order to preserve the unique character of the Estate.

A multitude of indigenous flowers and shrubs are continuously planted. More than 20 ha of indigenous plants within the Estate will be retained and protected in its pristine state, giving a home to rare birdlike, shy buck and a number of other interesting species.

A new boardwalk of ± 1km in length takes you through old indigenous forest past 150 year old milkwoodtrees. Benches are placed at strategic points enabling you to enjoy nature at its best with a great variety of birds such as the Knysna Loerie.

A lake of ± 4000m² will shortly be constructed which together with the existing 4 dams will greatly enhance the Fauna and Flora of Schoongezicht.

The service roads built with terracotta coloured pavers and beige border stones blend well into the landscape. All service roads are fitted with bollard lights, which easily blend into the landscape.
An added feature of the development is a small farm cottage dating back to 1856, which was recently completely restored with careful attention to detail.

The size of erven varies between 1050 and 3350 m² and are fully serviced with all necessary connections, including the conduits for TV – German channels if so desired.
