Plettenberg Bay
Heart of the Garden Route

It has a well-established infrastructure and excellent restaurants, which receive their fresh supplies daily from the sea and the surrounding farms. While Europe is in the grip of winter, Plett experiences a stunning summer. During the rest of the year it also has a mild climate with more than 300 days of sunshine, which results in an abundance of flowering plants all year round.
It is an absolute paradise for nature lovers, who can enjoy the solitude of hiking trails in the Tsitsikamma National Park and the Robberg Nature Reserve, or soak up the tranquillity of a boating trip on the Keurbooms River. The surrounding area of Plett allows you to interact with elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary and also allows one to visit several farms and sanctuaries where snakes, cheetahs, monkeys and birds can been seen. Lions, rhinos and other wild animals can also be viewed at game reserves close by.
It is notable that South Africa has one of the most stringent laws in the world for the protection of the environment and nature as a whole.
Kilometres of beach on the “Golden Arch” of Plett, with protected bays of the Indian Ocean, are a bathing bliss and invitation for all kinds of water sports. Dolphins play in the surf and from September to November the whales visit the Bay and attract spectators and whale watchers from around the globe.
